Quality Production:

Our production begins with rural women collecting fresh, ripe, fallen fruit from beneath wild Marula trees on our exclusive concessions in East Africa. The nuts are slowly sun-dried naturally concentrating the oil prior to extraction. The hard outer shells are individually split by hand, each Kernel is removed and inspected for freshness, discarding any of poor quality.

The oil rich ivory-colored kernels are pressed through our unique, proprietary cold pressing system; a final filtration of the oil at 0.20 microns naturally removes any possible bacteria resulting in our Marula Oil being of the highest possible quality thus providing the greatest efficacy for our customers. We add less than 1% natural essential oil blend for a subtle, natural scent.

The Leakey Collection is proud to present a collection of fine, hardwood products hand crafted from fallen Acacia Tortillus. Each unique piece takes three months to make with our proprietary production process resulting in heirloom quality. The fallen wood is partially shaped, sanded and soaked for three days in our food safe oil blend before resting in a drying shed for 30 days. This process repeated three times results in exposing the depth of rich hues and unusual grains unique to each piece.

We only purchase fallen wood that has been on the ground for 10 years or more and process the wood through a 3 month regiment of turning and soaking in our special oil blend and then drying. A process that is repeated three times over the course of three months to expose the richly hued, lustrous grain of this iconic wood.
